A narrative history podcast covering the history of the epic conflict for control over the important waterways between New York and Quebec from 1754-1815. The overview will cover three major conflicts including the French & Indian War, The American Revolution, and the War of 1812. Our journey will concentrate on a geographic area in the shape of a triangle, from the St. Lawrence to Lake Ontario and down to New York Harbor. Please join me in a new examination of the impact these crucial waterways had on European imperial development and the formation of the early American Republic.
I wanted to explore some wider connections to our Podcast narrative and zoom out a bit to cover three distinct historical episodes over the course of the 17th century, that highlight Dutch struggles with the Spanish Habsburg, English and French for control of the Atlantic basin.
